To enjoy the fullness of Yosemite, I love to incorporate time outside the Valley in the Northern areas off Tioga Road. Along here, Olmsted Point hosts a distinctive view of Half Dome. My first time there, after a few minutes in the point's parking lot, I noticed the steep, but walkable rock slabs across the road. Excitedly curious of how the view would be on higher ground, I left my friends behind & ventured up. Meeting this gorgeous Sierra Nevada native, rising out of the rocks, was such a sweet surprise. Even discovering later I had accidentally overexposed my shot, it seemed only to highlight & enhance the natural glamour of this Olmsted Tree. - Sarah, Photographer
